A Night to Remember:
Feast of St. Agatha at Tre Mari Bakery
On February 5, Tre Mari Bakery hosted its very first CULTURE SERIES: FOODxART event, “The Feast of St. Agatha,” a captivating evening that beautifully blended food, culture, and tradition. This one-night-only celebration honored St. Agatha of Sicily, while immersing guests in the island’s rich history and customs.
Tickets sold out in just two days, and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation. The bakery was transformed into a gothic shrine, adorned with candlelight, roses, and sacred relics. Guests were treated to the finest selection from our deli and pastries, showcasing the best of Sicilian cuisine, complemented by a curated selection of wine, adding another layer of authenticity to the experience.
One of the highlights of the evening was the grand reveal of the giant Sospiri Cassata, which symbolized St. Agatha’s suffering. The Sospiri pastries, served throughout the night, honored the saint with their delicate design, representing her severed breast as a symbol of resilience and sacrifice. Each bite of these ricotta-filled delicacies was a reminder of her martyrdom.
In a special and personal touch, we set up a prayer table where guests could write their prayers to St. Agatha, which will be sent to Italy as a heartfelt tribute. Our guests also embraced the occasion by dressing up in elegant attire, adding to the festive atmosphere.
A big thank you to the incredible team that brought this vision to life: Patriccia Ritacca, Mark Savoia, Franco Deleo, Steph Cianchino, Ariane Laezza, and Michael Madjus. Special thanks also to Bar Amarro, Alta Wines, and Forget Me Not Flowers for their contributions in making this evening truly magical.
We’re already planning more events like this in the future, so be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for early access to tickets and updates on our next celebration!
